Coolest onsie yet

The doctor says we probably will have a kid inside of a week, so we went on a bit of a shopping spree tonight. This is the coolest thing we found.

Four weeks to go

We had another sonogram today, and everything is just peachy. We are looking at a fairly big kid, (seven and a half pounds).



I think I'll call this pose 'The Thinker'

I'll be the first to admit the finish is a little blotchy, and no, it ain't glue stains. I found out a little late that maple is notorious for not taking darker stains evenly; I should have stuck with cherry. Maple sure is easy to work, at least for this amateur woodworker.

Woodworking

We are six weeks out, and I finally got started on the crib I have always wanted to build.
It is made of 7/8ths maple. This is just the basket - I haven't started the base yet.
